Trail certification is a process by which trained Trail Certification Consultants collaborate with land managers to certify trails appropriate for forest bathing. When the process is complete, certified trails are displayed on the ANFT website and in Forest Bathing International's digital magazine.
A trail certification consultant is a Level 3 ANFT guide who has received additional training that allows her to represent ANFT in the process of trail certification.
There is a one-time fee of $300. Trail Certification Consultants will be trained by the Director of Member Services in a zoom call, receive all forms and templates required of trail certification, and have on-going support throughout the process. Upon completion of the zoom call training session (60-90 minutes), consultants will receive a letter of credentialing that can be presented to land managers.
Trail Certification Consultants represent ANFT in the process of certifying trails and negotiate their own terms with land managers (although ANFT recommends charging each client between $1,000 to $1,500 USD for services). Each trail will typically require between 15 and 25 hours of labor.
