Jane West trained as a certified forest therapy guide in 2015 in the fourth cohort and four years later, is an active guide, mentor and apprentice-level trainer. Jane draws immense joy and energy from walks she offers individuals, and groups in the Colorado Rockies and in Denver’s urban parks. Jane often pairs forest therapy practices with the snowshoe and cross country tours, and the hikes she has been leading near Vail the last twenty years and finds this combination quite magical. Jane is a longstanding licensed professional counselor specializing in the wellbeing of young children who are experiencing adversity; she also develops a variety of experiential programs for adults going through life transitions such as the birth of a child or the emptying of the nest. Jane worked for over a decade as an award-winning documentary filmmaker for national public television and, among her proudest accomplishments is the first large-scale PBS television series about global environmental issues and solutions called Race to Save the Planet.
