This is for the wild ones...
Our six-month Forest Therapy Guide Certification Programs begin with an unforgettable week-long immersion in the experience, research, theory, and skills of guiding forest therapy walks. These immersions are also an initiation into the growing global community of Forest Therapy Guides.
Often the week-long immersions take place near urban centers. But what if that's just not your thing? All of our guides are nature enthusiasts; some feel most connected in a deeper wilderness setting. Does this sound like you? This is the most wilderness-immersive training offered by the Association.
About Cross River Wilderness Center
Cross River Wilderness Center is an off-grid eco-sensitive wilderness center in the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia. The center's staff describe it like this: "Our location provides connection with nature, an opportunity to be truly alone, to see green forests and mountain peaks as far as the eye can see, to hear the sounds of the wilderness and the sound of silence, and to experience a moon and brightly star lit night or even the excitement of total darkness."
"There is no better way to experience nature than to immerse yourself into the wilderness. Re-kindle your inspiration, deepen your respect for the environment and draw closer to the land. The sights, sounds and smells of the forest are all around you. The changing weather will add to the diversity, enrichment and enjoyment of your mountain experience, and help prepare you to guide in many conditions. Come and invite the mountain forests to refresh your body, relax your mind and touch your soul."
