Rebirth Through the Change of Season
I feel his energy here amongst the cedars and pines, the spruce and maples; the forest is my saviour.
I can talk to him and feel his presence amongst these beautiful life sustaining trees. His energy surrounds me, bringing peace and comfort. I feel such strength and hope amid my forest friends as they are under constant assault by man, yet seem to survive.
I have wandered through many forests throughout my 52 years. They have served me in many different ways yet none have been as important to me as they are now. My grief journey has been the hardest test I have had yet to endure. The roller coaster of emotions has become part of my daily regimen.
The benefits of being amongst the trees are vast. During the deepest and darkest moments of grief we lose direction and desire.
The forest has helped me reconnect to what is truly important - life itself.
As beautiful as the autumn transitions in all of its colourful glory, the sad reality is the forest is dying. The starkness of winter will arrive and all the forest inhabitants will hibernate until the rebirth in the spring. The seasons we experience give me such hope that I too can continue an existence after having suffered such a devastating loss.
